AdBlue Delete Gone Wrong?

If your vehicle has started showing AdBlue warnings, SCR faults, limp mode, reduced power or even a no-start countdown after previous tuning or software work, you are not the only one. We regularly see vehicles where the problem is not the car itself, but the way the software has been handled.

A lot of emissions-related software work is sold as if it is simple. In reality, modern diesel systems are tied into multiple strategies inside the ECU, and if the work has not been carried out properly, faults can remain active or return later. That is when the dashboard lights up, the car drives badly, or the owner is left wondering why the “solution” has created even more problems.

At Llandow Tuning we have been working with engine management systems since 2004. We do not rely on generic reseller files or one-size-fits-all downloads. We assess the vehicle properly, identify what is actually wrong, and work from there.

What Usually Goes Wrong?

When previous software work has not been carried out properly, the results are often obvious. We see cars come in with warning lights still active, faults returning after a short period, poor running, reduced power, or systems that have only been partly addressed.

In some cases the calibration has simply been copied from elsewhere and written to the car with little or no testing. In others, parts of the system are still monitoring, still communicating, or still triggering a protection strategy in the background. The end result is the same: the car is not right and the owner is left with the problem.

That is exactly why proper in-house development matters. If the person doing the work cannot actually diagnose the vehicle, understand the software, and test the result, then all you are really getting is guesswork dressed up as a service.

Common Problems After Previous AdBlue Software Work

  • AdBlue warning light still showing
  • SCR system faults returning after tuning
  • Engine management light appearing soon after the work
  • Vehicle entering limp mode or reduced-power mode
  • Countdown to no-start still active
  • Poor running, flat spots or drivability issues
  • Incomplete software changes leaving monitors active
  • Generic files applied without proper testing

Why Llandow Tuning?

We have been tuning vehicles since 2004 and have long since moved past the generic file reseller approach. We develop and test in-house, we understand how these systems work, and we know how often poor previous work is the real cause of the trouble.

We are known for dealing with the sort of jobs other places either get wrong or do not want to touch. That means proper diagnostics, proper testing and a realistic assessment of what the vehicle is doing, not just plugging something in and hoping for the best.

We also have genuine hardware and software coverage for both modern vehicles and older platforms, so whether it is something current or something more unusual, we are used to working across a wide range of systems.

There is a big difference between somebody saying they have “done loads of these” and somebody actually understanding the ECU strategy, the fault handling and the knock-on effects when software work has been done badly. We see a lot of vehicles that have already had money spent on them elsewhere, only to arrive with the same issues still present or new ones added on top.

That is why we take the time to assess what is actually going on. Sometimes the issue is software-related, sometimes there is a hardware fault in the background, and sometimes the vehicle has simply been given a poor file. The important thing is identifying the real cause rather than hiding it behind sales talk.

We also back up what we do. If there is a problem after work has been carried out, we do not disappear or feed customers excuses. We want the car back, we want to see the issue, and we want to sort it properly.

What We Can Help With

  • Diagnosis of AdBlue and SCR-related faults after previous tuning
  • Checking whether previous software work has actually been carried out properly
  • Identifying whether the issue is software, hardware or both
  • General emissions-related fault diagnosis
  • ECU calibration assessment by an experienced in-house tuner
  • Broader engine management and drivability investigation where needed

If your vehicle has an AdBlue fault after previous software work, the main thing is not to keep guessing. Proper diagnosis usually saves time, money and frustration in the long run.

We work with customers from Cardiff, Swansea, Bridgend, Rhondda, Gwent and across South Wales who want straight answers and a proper look at what their vehicle is actually doing.

Don’t just take our word for it
